So this page is in two parts. The first is the shop's books, which the owner keeps and which Dokan Seba is built for. The second is the accountant's books, needed for an audit, a bank loan or a company tax file, and which free software actually serves there.

আলাদা করে হিসাব লেখার কাজ নেই। বিল কাটলে বিক্রি, কেনা দাম আর লাভ উঠে যায়; বাকিতে দিলে সেই টাকাটা কাস্টমারের খাতায় বসে; মাল কিনলে সাপ্লায়ারের পাওনা বাড়ে; খরচ লিখলে খাত ধরে জমা হয়। দিন শেষে "দিন বন্ধ" করলে ড্রয়ারের টাকা আর হিসাবের টাকা মিলিয়ে দেখায়, কম-বেশি হলে কত। মাস শেষে লাভ-ক্ষতি নিজে থেকেই তৈরি।
There is no separate bookkeeping step. Cutting a bill records the sale, its cost price and the margin; selling on credit puts that amount in the customer's ledger; buying stock raises what you owe the supplier; an expense is filed under its head. Closing the day compares the cash in the drawer with the cash the books expect and shows the difference. Month-end profit and loss is already there.

A balance sheet for a bank loan, a company audit, books for several companies at once, or an accountant who wants journal entries: Dokan Seba does not do these and does not pretend to. The shop's oven, van or building are not in this database, so a "balance sheet" built from it would leave out the largest asset. For that work use the accounting module of ERPNext or Odoo, or the accountant's own software. Sales, purchases and expenses export from Dokan Seba to Excel to hand over.

If you only want a dues ledger, TallyKhata is free and good at it. If you want bills, stock, dues, expenses and profit in one place, Dokan Seba's free plan, in Bangla. If you need an accountant's books, neither; look at ERPNext or Odoo.

Each bill knows the cost price of what it sold, so sales minus cost price gives gross profit and minus expenses gives net profit. Customer advances and booking deposits are not counted as profit, because that money is not yours yet.
