Yes. Every customer has their own khata: what went on credit and when, what was paid back and when, all dated. You do not go to a separate screen to record credit; it goes on at billing time.
You can send a customer their statement by SMS or WhatsApp, and give them a link they open themselves to see what they owe and what they bought. That removes the part of the argument that is about whose memory is right.

Yes. Customers are known by their number, points accrue on what they buy, and those points can be redeemed as money off what they owe: no new card to print.
You can run discount coupons too, and the books show how many came back and what they cost in total, so whether an offer is paying for itself is measured rather than guessed.

Enter what the hand count actually found and it is reconciled against the book, which item is short, which is over. The count itself is recorded, so you can say later who checked and when.
Anything broken or spoiled goes onto a register of its own, written off at average cost. Nobody without the manager's PIN posts one and a posted write-off cannot be quietly reversed, so the discrepancy stops being "where did it go" and becomes "who wrote it off, and when".

A shop with a single counter need do nothing and sees no change.
